What you can learn from this course?

This certification is designed to give students the necessary skills to conduct open water dives down to a maximum of 18m anywhere in the world with a buddy.

Upon successful completion of this course, graduates:

  1. Are qualified to enrol in:
    1. The Advanced Adventure Diver program
    2. Particular Specialties



  • 18 years, however, you can learn from the age of 10 with written parental consent
    • Students between the ages of 10 to 14 may obtain a Junior Open Water Scuba Diver. Junior students train and dive under the direct supervision of a parent, guardian, or active dive professional only.
    • When a Junior Open Water Diver reaches the age of 15, they can upgrade to an Open Water Scuba Diver certification.
  • Must be able to complete a 300m snorkel / fin non-stop swim OR a 200m non-stop swim without any swimming aids
  • Must be able to complete a 10 minute tread water / float


Course Content

Duration of the course is 3 days.

  • Online theory
  • 1 Confined Water Session
  • 4 Open Water Dives

Online Theory:

All theory for the course must be completed online at home before the first day of the course. You will be sent an email with both, online codes to access the eLearning and instructions on how to access them on the website.


Sunday / Day #1- 10:00am to 5:00pm (Intro, Theory Review, Gear fit-out, Pool Session)
Saturday / Day #2- Weekend Safari (OW Dives 1 and 2)
Sunday / Day #3- Weekend Safari (OW Dives 3 and 4)
