The Assistant Instructor Course is designed to build on the Divemaster Program by gaining practical teaching experience, learning to prepare lesson plans, and give academic presentations. You will work with an instructor to gain experience teaching before moving on to the Open Water Scuba Diver Instructor level. Once you complete the Specialty Instructor training with a qualified Instructor Trainer, you can become qualified to teach several Specialty Diver courses.
This course is designed to have students gain practical teaching experience with an active Instructor
*Note: CPROX, CPR1st or CPROX1stAED courses may be combined with the assistant instructor program by qualified instructors
The Assistant Instructor Diver Course takes an in-depth look at all of the following and more:
Day #1- 9:00am to 5:00pm (Theory, Dives 1 & 2)
Day #2- 9:00am to 5:00pm (Pool Session, Theory)
The student must assist an active instructor with the following classes. The student must attend all classroom, confined water and open water sessions.
1. One complete Open Water Scuba Diver Course
a. One limited academic presentation
b. One limited confined water presentation
c. One limited open water presentation
2. Four Specialty Courses
3. One Rescue Course
